PSALTER
Apoc 5.9-10 THOU hast redeemed us, O Lord, in thy Blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and hast made us to our God a kingdom. Ps. 88.2 The mercies of the Lord I will sing for ever: I will show forth thy truth with my mouth to generation and generation. I John 5.6-8. This is he that came by water and Blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and Blood. There are three who give testimony in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and three that give testimony on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the Blood; and these three are one.
I John 5.9. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of of God is greater. Ephes. 1.6-8. God hath made us accepted in his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption through his Blood. The forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace, wherein he hath abounded toward us. Rom. 3.24-25. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption, that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his Blood. Ex. 12.13. The blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you: and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you.
VERSE
Alleluia. I Cor. 10.16. The chalice of bendiction which we bless, is it not the communion of the Blood of Christ? And the bread which we break, is it not the partaking of the Body of the Lord? Heb. 9.28. Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many; the second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him, unto salvation.
COLLECT
ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who didst appoint thine only-begotten Son to be Redeemer of the world, and didst vouchsafe to be appeased by his Blood: grant, we beseech thee, that, by our solemn service, we may so venerate the Price of our redemption, and by its power be so defended from evils of this present life on earth, that we may enjoy its fruit for evermore in heaven. Through the same.
